Voting Delegate Information

The chief purpose of National Convention is to conduct Sorority business. Official collegiate and alumnae delegates are encouraged to be part of the decision-making process by voicing their opinions and voting on important issues. To ensure that chapters are represented at business meetings, each chapter should send an official delegate to National Convention.

All Official Delegates are required to participate in a National Convention delegate educational Webinar prior to National Convention. Only Webinar participants will be credentialed.

REMINDER OF MANDATORY ATTENDANCE

All delegates for whom the Sorority incurs any expenses (Chapter Presidents, College Chapter Directors, Regional Collegiate Coordinators, Area Alumnae Directors, Area Membership Chairmen, National Committee Chairmen) are reminded that attendance at Convention is MANDATORY from Thursday morning, July 1 at 8:00 a.m. through the close of the business meeting on Saturday afternoon, July 3. If you are departing after the business meeting, we recommend departures late on Saturday afternoon. For those delegates staying for the closing banquet, departures can be any time on Sunday, July 4. All delegates for whom Delta Zeta Sorority incurred any hotel or travel expense will be required to reimburse the Sorority should they arrive later than the above timeline or depart earlier. The National Council is making an exception for both the Opening Celebration and Closing Banquets for any delegates needing that time to travel due to job, family or personal commitments.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER

YOUR CHAPTER MUST BE CLEARED BEFORE COMING TO CONVENTION IN ORDER FOR THE DELEGATE TO RECEIVE VOTING CREDENTIALS. IN ADDITION, CREDENTIALS WILL NOT BE ISSUED IF THE DELEGATE HAS NOT PARTICIPATED IN THE NATIONAL CONVENTION DELEGATE EDUCATIONAL WEBINAR. THERE WILL BE NO CLEARANCE GRANTED AT CONVENTION. CREDENTIALED DELEGATES SIT TOGETHER WITH THEIR REGIONS OR AREAS DURING ALL BUSINESS MEETINGS. THOSE NOT HOLDING CREDENTIAL CARDS WILL SIT IN THE VISITOR SECTION.
